Attendance

Illness

If your child is absent from school due to illness you must contact the school on the first day of absence before 8:30am. The school has an answer phone available to leave a message if nobody is available to take your call, or you may call into school personally and speak to the office staff. Parents are required to contact the school on every further day of absence, again before 9.20 am; Medical evidence may be requested where your child is having multiple periods of absence which are reported as being due to medical reasons.

When determining whether your child is too ill to attend school, both parents and school staff can consider the advice contained within the NHS and Essex County Council Guidance on School Absence and Childhood Illness here.

Term Time Holidays

Please be reminded that the school does not authorise holidays during term time. If you require leave for any other reason, you must complete the Leave of Absence form and submit it to the school office prior to the planned absence.

For additional information regarding attendance and leave requests, please refer to the school’s Attendance Policy, which outlines the criteria and procedures in detail.

Should you have any questions or require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
